About OUR PROJECTS

CATALYSIS PROJECTS provides artists and audiences with a nexus - and a forum - for the creation of collaborative, multidisciplinary bodies of work. Our CORE ARTISTS and RESIDENT ARTISTS serve as curators and emissaries throughout a spectrum of artistic disciplines and communities, bringing their unique artistic preoccupations and relationships into the creative workshop where our projects are built.

Our four project categories are Publications, Performances & Events, Online Forum, and Laboratories.

CATALYSIS PUBLICATIONS
We commission and release a series of collaborative and multidisciplinary publications. These include limited edition art books, fine art prints and broadsides, chapbooks, and DVD and CD releases. In some instances, these works are commissioned by the core artists and constitute a unique body of work.

CATALYSIS PERFORMANCES & EVENTS
Our multidisciplinary, collaborative performances take place throughout Europe and North America, and include exhibitions, concerts, screenings and literary readings. Most events include visiting artists, and are co-hosted with partnering arts and academic organizations.

CATALYSIS ONLINE FORUM
We recognizes the Internet’s vital role as connector and conduit. We invite selected artists and intellectuals to share their interests on our online discussion forum, located at www.CatalysisProjects.wordpress.com. These guests join our Core and Resident Artists in creating a tangible meeting place to discuss performance, visual art, literature, video, dance and emerging forms, as well as overlapping projects done in the sciences.

CATALYSIS LABORATORIES
Occasionally, we are moved to engage the community within the process and conversation of collaborative, multidisciplinary artmaking. Geared towards collective exploration and experimentation, the laboratories include studio visits, field trips, workshops, and symposia, and are frequently led by our Core or Resident Artists.
